The young guitarist Jean Charnaux from Rio de Janeiro plays his compositions, which are characterized by a lot of creativity, sensitivity and impeccable technique. His songs take us to a walk in the universe of Brazilian instrumental music – from jazz over choro rhythms to Musica Popular Brasileira – with liquid melodies and complex harmonies, without losing simplicity. He is one of the promising newcomers in its genre, who has played with several famous artists, like Guinga, Joao Bosco, Emilio Santiago, Fatima Guedes, Idriss Boudrioua, Monia Salmasso, Zé Paulo Becker, Alexandre Gismonti and others. In 2014, his first album, Matrizes, was released, which is nominated for the Brazilian Music Award.
